Health Secretary Alex Neil said:
"Access to new medicines is a complicated and important issue, and we must ensure that further improvements to the system are taken after very careful consideration.
“That’s why I would like to thank the committee for their work, which will help us to develop the best system possible. We will be taking the committee’s recommendations, along with those from the recent independent reviews, and will be consulting over the summer.
"We welcome the consensual approach the committee has taken and we agree with them that we need more clarity on Westminster’s new drug pricing structure, which could affect Scotland. That’s why I am meeting with Earl Howe today to seek clarity on the way forward."
