The MV Lochinvar, Loch a' Bharr in Gaelic, is the second diesel-electric hybrid vessel in the CalMac fleet. She runs on a combination of diesel-electric and lithium-ion battery power, reducing fuel and CO2 consumption by at least 20%. Her name comes from and 1808 poem by Sir Walter Scott.
