NQ Understanding Standards
SQA's Understanding Standards programme aims to support teachers and lecturers by strengthening their understanding of the standards required for assessment. We provide a range of subject-specific Understanding Standards materials, events and webinars that help to build their confidence in preparing learners for assessment.
National 5 CPD webinars
Between April and September 2017, we are running a programme of subject-specific webinars which focus on the requirements of the revised National 5 course assessments being introduced in 2017-18. You can find out more about the webinars on our NQ Events page.
National 5 audio presentations
For some subjects, we are publishing audio presentations that cover the same content as webinars. These will be published in the resources section of National 5 subject pages between May and September 2017.
Understanding Standards materials
Understanding Standards materials contain examples of candidate assessment evidence, along with a commentary that explains why the evidence has or has not been awarded specific marks.
Understanding Standards events
A programme of face-to-face Understanding Standards events will take place in session 2017-18. We will publish further details of the events in due course.
