With battle ships and magnificent marine life, the waters of Scotland feature some of the world's most exciting diving sites. There are diving opportunities for all abilities with dive companies offering everything from day trips to on-board accommodation on dive boats.
Book a lesson with the Puffin Dive Centre to dive in the sparkling waters of Argyll & The Isles; uncover rocky reefs at St Abbs Head National Nature Reserve in Berwickshire; or join Uist Outdoor Centre for guided tours of the waters around Outer Hebrides or St Kilda. To experience some of the best wreck diving in the world, head to Scapa Flow in Orkney or the Sound of Mull with Lochaline.
If you enjoy an adrenaline rush and are unfazed by the prospect of sliding down waterfalls, cliff jumping into deep pools, abseiling over rocks and more, canyoning and gorge walking are the ideal adventure sports for you - coasteering is their seaside equivalent. For safety reasons, these activities are usually done in small, supervised groups.
Discover the thrill of flying across water at high velocity on a power boating or jet skiing experience, and find training centres and some incredible locations across Scotland where you can learn to master these speedy vessels for yourself.
You can also explore Scotland's coasts at your own pace by doing a spot of stand up paddleboarding; a great way to introduce yourself to the world of watersports.
