Hey,
Is it possible to integrate an automatic interface which optimize Pictures when uploading images? This would have beneficial effects on the pages speed. It will be great if this will be possible one day. There are some Plugins but they didn`t work so well.

Lead Plugin WranglerWordPress actually DOES that. It uses ImageMagick and if it can't find that, GD Image. The problem is that if it can't find the tools on your server, it can't use them. That's why plugins like EWWWW exist. They put the libraries in place for you.
