The menu down the left side of the dashboard, has a menu item for "Pages", which has two submenu items, namely "All Pages" and "Add New".

It would be handy to have an additional submenu item for "Search for page" or "Search".

This would allow a direct click to the search function (only), rather than click and load a page with the full list on it.

So saves on data for page, faster processor time, and would make for smoother user experience.

Thank you

Definitely a logical idea, however maybe it would be hard for the new ones to rise up and get fair recognition if all the plugins that have been around for a long time (and thus have more ratings) are occupying the 'top rated' filter.

I'm not a coder, but I really support this idea: notifications can make the difference between success or failure, depending if you fail to understand them or not, but can also be a real pain...

So my contribution to this idea would be: why not create a history of notifications since the very firs day of the WordPress installation?

Sometimes, one might click on the 'dismiss' button, but there you go... "That" was an important notification that you just deleted... What was in there that you did not pay attention?

History would help solve this problem.

(I'm using Windows 10 on a laptop and boy... How I would like to have an history of notifications there... ;) )

The goal here would be to separate the UI/View rendering in WordPress from the php files to a templating language and thus get a clean separation between the server UI code and the back-end code. Its something that could be phased in over multiple releases since a set of rendering utilities could be added and then as time permits, different sections of the code-base updated to use this new rendering engine.

Additionally, plugin and theme developers could make use of this templating system as well for their plugins and themes.
