When added links to text-articles (placed in the Media collection) to the pages (for example, home-page), these articles are impossible to catalogise, if are not separatelly posted . Therefore, I suggest that when creating or editing pages, to allow to catalogise the content when linking to content or to enable content cataloging in Media collection.

In almost every project I do, I wish there were a role that could create/edit/delete all content AND manage menus and widgets. Other roles this might person have would be add new users (but maybe not delete or change roles), moderate comments.

The real-world case for this role goes as follows:
A technical admin installs WordPress and then manages plugins, themes, and settings.
An editor creates and edit content.

The problem case is when an editor creates new content but then cannot add it to the menu! Similarly, managing widgets is often closer to content management than site administration. Comment moderation is the same, and even user creation is sometimes more an editorial duty.

Having this role would make my life better along with anyone else who manages a medium or large WordPress site. I've talked with many other people who want this exact same role.

wordpress should introduce a list feature in which we can grant selected permisions to the new users for example if a website have revolution slider and layer slider plugin but i just want grant layer slider access to the new user i'm creating, through the list in the user role area.. it is better to have a list of each feature installed in dashboard to grant access to the new users..

Currently when a new user registers with a site, the site's admin receives a "New User Registration" notification by email. However, the link included in that email is always /wp-admin/users.php, when it would be more useful -- especially on sites with hundreds of users -- to have the link be to the new user's profile site, e.g., /wp-admin/user-edit.php?user_id=531.

To be clear, the first two capabilities in the title don't exist right now, but they should. As of this writing, the edit_theme_options capability gives permission to users to edit theme options, modify widgets, and modify menus. That's way un-granular.

Theme options tend to control the DESIGN aspects of a site (or at least set-it-and-forget-it features) that really shouldn't be changed frequently. (And IMHO, if they control more than that, that's the theme's problem...)

I suspect that most people would be happy with just an edit_widget_and_menus capability, but I think we should split them so people have the most possible control

I've seen others advocate this change, but I don't see an actual "Idea" advocating for implementation. Consider this it.

There are situations when there is a need to disable user accounts without deleting them. Currently, there is an plugin that does this but I believe such feature should be in the core of Wordpress, just like how user creation is.

The new 3.0 menu function is so easy that it would be nice to allow editor access to edit menus (and text widgets per my previous ideas post - http://wordpress.org/extend/ideas/topic/editing-for-text-widgets).

This way Editors could edit posts, pages, menus and widgets.

I seem to have a LOT of problem with spam registration. Unfortunately, I get at least 5 a day, and I am not able to delete them in bulk.

In the dashboard user control, if I am able to sort users according to the day they registered, I can sort them, select them and delete in bulk. Honestly, the "Delete" option in the dropdown box does not have any use because there surely cant be more than 2 users in one page which one would want to delete (generally).

Sorry to be mentioning, but Joomla has that option and also lets you show all the users in one page making it easy to select the users you want and deleting them.

I would like to see a more robust permissioning system that allows for an admin to scope which content a user will see and be able to edit. Should be able to add as many roles as needed and permissions should be able to overlap. This would put WP on par with what other enterprise CMS platforms have been able to do for years.
