Support » Plugin: Google Analytics for WordPress by MonsterInsights » the new version has bugs with favicon

  • I’ve just updated the new version 6.1.10 and the favicon logo disappeared from my site. When I deactivated completely the plugin, it appeared again properly on the pages.

    Hi there,
I wish you had given us some time (under 12 minutes) to respond to your support ticket before reviewing us.

As replied on the support ticket: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/favicon-image-disappeared-after-latest-update-6-1-10/#post-9150166

The 6.1.10 update changed 1 line of code total that only affected the requests sent outbound. We don’t alter the favicon in any way nor do we output anything visible to a user on the frontend (we just output tracking Javascript).

My guess is that in the customizer of WordPress, your site logo/favicon isn’t sent. If this is the case, your browser might use any or no image at all for your favicon. If your theme also has a theme options area, I would also suggest making sure that if they have a favicon that it’s set there as well.
