Really great idea and it works as intended. It combines really well with the TwentySeventeen theme´s customizer. The only thing I am missing is the category/tag interface (for posts) and the template/parent selector (for pages).

From what I have read I understand it can be done by extending the customizer with Customize Order Selector, right?.

At any rate, great plugin, certainly the way to go!

Thanks! Yes, the parent selector is available when you have the Customize Object Selector plugin active: https://wordpress.org/plugins/customize-object-selector/

As for category/tag selection (terms) this is an open issue: https://github.com/xwp/wp-customize-posts/issues/58

We could add support for selecting pre-existing terms now, but for adding support for adding terms, this is dependent on core adding support for term status: https://make.wordpress.org/core/2016/10/04/proposal-status-api-for-taxonomy-terms/

The page template selection control is just a normal dropdown so that should work regardless.

Thankyou Weston for your detailed reply, I will look into what you suggest. I have gone from hating the customizer with a passion to loving it in a matter of just a few months, and all thanks to great developers like you guys. Please keep up the good work!
