Microsoft Translator live feature preview |
The Microsoft Translator live feature preview is the first step towards a personal universal translator and Microsoft Translator’s overall goal of breaking the language barrier. It’s a multi-device, multi-language, in person translation feature available in the Microsoft Translator apps (Android, iOS or Windows) and from the browser at: http://translator.microsoft.com.
The feature is free to use while in preview and is conveniently reached at this easy to remember and share URL: http://translate.it.

There are many uses for the live feature, and here are just some of the situations:
Join a conversation regardless of your language. Chat. Share experiences. Make a connection.
Break the language barrier and make your message heard by everyone in the room.
If you are using Microsoft PowerPoint, add real-time subtitles (or closed-captioning for accessibility scenarios) with Presentation Translator, a Microsoft Garage project.
Interact with ease when traveling internationally. Meet locals. Make new friends.
Greet anyone regardless of the language they speak. Provide people with needed information.

The live feature is built on top of Microsoft Translator core speech and text translation APIs. It manages all the different elements necessary to enable these multi-person, multi-device scenarios:
To get started, download the Microsoft Translator app or start a translated conversation from your browser at: http://translator.microsoft.com
An upcoming version of the Microsoft Translator API will allow developers and enterprises to build customized experiences using the live feature. Sign-up on the contact page, if you are interested in joining the early API beta (Q1 2017).
