I fully agree with esgtomhodgson, it would be important to have these "basic" fonctions like user role manager included in the body of worspress.

It would be much better if Wordpress had the ability built straight in to it to create roles rather than using another plugin for something that feels like it should be a core feature. I want to limit plugins to limit the overhead they cause.

Hey Mark. I like your idea. I have a new project I'm working on right now where I'm looking at having to use the plugin Justin mentioned for this very reason. It's a non-profit with several staff involved in the website.

I'd really love it for someone to make an argument against adding this specific role (or something similar) to core.
