I guess the solution is to select English in you User settings as the language of your admin interface.

So you site can be in one language and the wp-admin could be in another.

Sorry, I'm confused because it sounds like you're saying that you want to pick one language for your site, and another for plugins and themes.

What happens is the language pack is downloaded based on the language you set for the site. So if you set a site to be French, then yes it downloads everything for that, so you don't have half one language and half the other.

It's annoying because sometimes I confused when use my local language for the WordPress interface. It's also happen with my friends when they try a phone, computer OS or softwares that use their own local language. That is because I'm already sticky with English when I working with WordPress, phone, OS, etc although English is not my native language.

Why is that annoying? If there's a translation, why would you not want to use it?

Hi,

I'm working with French WordPress core.
It's annoying when I try to install a plugin but the system always force to use the french translation for the plugin.

It's better if we have an option to use the translation or not when we install themes or plugins.
