Excellent idea.

Some blogs have literally thousands of image files, it would be nice to be able to quickly find the ones you may wish to replace or re-use on a later post. Good thinking Batman!

Actually, this one's fairly huge in my opinion - a large media library is a very common problem that is hard to deal with - so much so that I think its no longer a plugin level problem - its something that will actually affect a high proportion of Wordpress users.

@easy: Right, these plugins make a great job. But to be honest I don't feel comfortable using too many 3rd party plugins. (security risk, maintenance, no support/updates in future...)

Sure, I'm happy to pay for a proper solution, but there is still the problem that a 3rd party coder will discontinue work on it.

It's a bit on the heavy side, but impressive.

I still maintain that there should be a better default option.

Enhanced Media Library works great and there's also another premium plugin available on CC.

It would be great to have a better media control in WordPress as standard. Managing a huge library is a pain.

So +1 to this idea.

Enhanced Media Library is great, and the best of what's available. Still, a more streamlined media library management w/simple, no-frills features is something that should already be built-in. Categories alone would save so much time working w/clients intimidated by the endless media library stockpile.

With the Media Library as it stands currently, you can only filter on dates, which is not very effective. If you could easily select a certain category of image, that would make things a lot more efficient.

I've built up quite a large collection of images, some of which I can re-use and others that are once-off.

It would be great to be able to assign images to categories, not just as re-usable or not, but more specifically what type of image, i.e. office pictures, cat photos, etc.

Currently I either scroll through hundreds of images, or upload a duplicate type image where it would have been better to simply use an existing image.
