Option To Duplicate Widgets

I vote for adding it to the core.

I try to use the least number of plugins possible to achieve what my clients need as the more plugins the more possibility of conflicts, failures, and bogging down the site.

And, as others have said here, some widgets have a lot of configurations that are time consuming to setup. For instance, "Special Recent Posts FREE Edition" which I use often. It's so frustrating to have to go through each instance of the widget and setup all the areas just to tweak one setting.

I also would really really love this. I have a dozen different sidebars and it's terrible having to change the settings of each widget everywhere.

I find that hard to believe - is there really no way to duplicate a widget without a plugin?

I have many sites with custom sidebars and this feature would be most welcome. I don't like to have my sites be plugin heavy but I guess I will have to add yet another

The functional difference between a plugin and having the code in core, as regards to making your site 'heavy' is nonexistent. It's the same net effect.
