  • I read somewhere on this forum that if we add CSS into Apperance > Customize > Additional CSS that when there are updates to Sydney or WordPress itself all the CSS will be lost or overwritten. I also read that in order for this to not happen we should get a custom CSS plugin to solve this issue…but on the other hand, there are many others saying not to get other plugins.

Can anyone help me understand all this confusion?

  • Hello there,

There are some ways to apply extra CSS code to your site without loosing it whenever you update the theme. Personally, I’d recommend you use Additional CSS which is part of the WordPress core features. Please read this codex to know why it benefits you.

I have been using the Additional CSS only.
Is that enough to safe changes after updates?

Yes, that’s enough. You’re safe to go wit it.
