Could you please explain to me, how it is possible to navigate the image browser itself (not the lightbox) with the keyboard arrows? Thanks!

The image browser displays navigation arrows below the images so you can navigate between the list using the mouse click. But it will not be possible to achieve using keyboard navigation, since it only applies to the lightbox image change. Thanks.

Thanks. Is it instead possible to have the arrows and image description of the slideshow below the image (as opposed to directly on it)?

For the stated option we have Image Browser view instead of slideshow. You might give it a try if your use the Pro version of the plugin.
