Widget List and Widget Areas Independently Scrollable

   If you only have a few widgets and a few widget areas, this doesn't matter.

   But for those of us who have dozens of widgets, and a theme with dozens of widget areas, we need the widget list (on the left) and the widget areas (on the right) to be scrollable independently of each other.

   The way it is now, if you have a widget on the bottom of the list and want to put it into an area at the top of that list, it is a big hassle to drag it there.

   Put each segment into its own limited-height div, with each div having its own vertical scroll bar, and presto! Problem solved.

   We would then be able to view the widget we want AND the widget area we want on the same screen, and have an easy drag.

   Hello David,

   yes,this is needed when we have many widgets.we think the same and developed a plugin where right side area of widget screen get fixed,so u can easily drag your widgets in any of area.

   Biztech, i think he dont mean the Frontend. I would say, he speaks about the backend list of widgets. And i would also like the mentioned function because my list of widgets is often also very long...

   This would be great. I have SO MANY WIGDETS it would be nice to have them scroll independently. Right now the drag and drop feature of wigdets is more annoying than anything.

   We are talking about same.we have developed this plugin for back0end only,when we have large amount of widgets.This makes easier to drag and drop to any area .
