It might work well if they ever updated the WordPress themes repository. I think most of the best theme designers never really used that though.

I think at this point, a lot of theme authors are set in their ways, and it would be hard to get many of them to move over to a new system. So, most of the themes in a repository system would be mediocre at best.

Many themes have online demos that you can view before uploading the theme.

It could be a nice feature for beginners.

Cruise around till you find on you like, then click and it's uploaded, installed. As it is, I have to download a bunch, unzip, upload, then go into theme area and click on them.

Less than 1 out of 10 ever get unzipped and uploaded - I just never remember which was which. I don't have all day to play with themes - and I have an even shorter attention span.

I'd like a plugin that uploads the zip file, unzips and installs it - from the admin area.
