    Free 'Jacobites' talk by artist Calum Colvin

    Join us on 16 August between 6pm and 7pm  for a free talk by Scottish artist Calum Colvin. The ‘Jacobites by Name’ exhibition, currently on display with us until 7 October, explores the Jacobite Rising through photographic artworks and objects.  The lecture will focus on some of the ideas behind his works and describe the process of creating this series of constructed photographic artworks.

    Parliament in recess

    The Scottish Parliament is now in recess until Sunday 3 September. During this time, the building will remain open to the public between 10am and 5pm from Monday to Saturday (last entry at 4:30pm).

    Please note that the Debating Chamber is closed to all visitors and tour groups throughout this time while maintenance takes place. Guided tours will still operate and will instead include a trip to a Member's Office!

    World Press Photo returns to Holyrood

    The World Press Photo exhibition is on display at the Scottish Parliament.

    The exhibition, which features over 140 of the most moving and thought provoking images taken in 2016, will be on display from 4 - 27 August 2017 and is free to attend.
