Straightforward and easy to use, many good concepts, but overall fine tuning and optimisation required for mainstream Android phones such as galaxy S8+. Fine tuning needed for infinity display scale, as this type of screen looks like an upcoming addition lots of phones. Issues with Samsung PSM on s8 occur (as with many apps) when resolution is changed such as the size of chat heads. Messanger games is a great feature of group chats, but also needs optimisation. Lag spikes occur when playing games and message notifications appear and disappear at the top. Not likely to be a Samsung problem due to the simplicity of the games.

Everything in this app is designed to piss you off. From the button that pops up while you are interacting with other apps to the screen not scrolling to the newest message to not being able to change online status. This app is forcing you to install it. You cant use the facebook platform to read messages anymore. You have to install this... they sue Microsoft for monopolies why don't they sue messenger for harassment :(

eapp is running smoothly no problems yet. one question is there any way to translate language during chatting ? if not i request admin to work on itt ! I'm tired of copy-pasting using G translater for chatting with my other states friends mostly Indonesian frindz. plz work on it and make it possible

Ok what is going on? I'm not sure if it's the messenger or if it's my phone but my phone has been glitching a lot. The 3 dots that show the person is typing do not show up anymore and when someone sends me a message I don't get it until about 15 min after. Come on guys you keep updating the app but nothing is fixed. 1 star.

im in the military and currently over seas. i use this app to contact family members, its the easiest way for me. lately the app will "remove" the phone and video option from all my contacts. uninstalling and reinstalling the app normally fixes it, but as of late, thats not the case. is there a reason this is happening? ive also spoke with a few friends and they have had similar problems. ive downloaded a different app and it is a feasible solution but would still rather use messenger... any help with this is much appreciated
My app automatically closes everytime I send photos or I have an incoming video call. I already formatted my device which resulted to deleting all my contacts, reinstalled the app but still same thing happens. I already reported a problem through messenger but it's still the same. I woudn't have done this you guys just responded to my messages and my report but there's none.
This used to display your entire list so that you can see ALL conversations; with last update, it now opens in this condensed pop-up Style version that only gives you half the # of conversations leaving off the most recent one you JUST started... Sooo annoying... Plus you all are asking for WAY TOO MANY permissions for an application... Will Be disabling ALL of them so you can't spy on us anymore
I can't count how many times I've uninstalled this only to be forced to reinstall it later. IT HAS ANNOYED ME TO THE POINT I'VE BROKEN A PHONE! It just randomly closes it self, won't send my messages and makes my whole phone glitch out. But it's the only way I can talk to people... so it'll do.
I love that I can keep in contact with people that can only use WiFi, but at the moment I have no idea what's wrong with my messenger. It won't load any active contacts or any of my messages! I've tried uninstalling and downloading again but nothing is working not even restarting my phone. I'm trying to let my husband know i made it to work safely!
One of the most poorly designed and unintuitive interfaces with really annoying quirks! Just trying to find the settings is needlessly hidden away. Then while scrolling through messages if you linger too long on a message you submit a "Reaction" to whatever message you're touching with no way to revoke it! Utterly stupid design.
It keeps shutting off on me and says restart app! I get my message ready to send and it shuts down. I have let you know but still doesn't work. Have to use it because of family who can't get service without WiFi. Please fix it!
I love using messenger, but recently my messages will randomly not deliver. They will "send" but the check circle will remain white and the person I'm messaging will not get it. I can still see when people are active, and it's not an internet connectivity issue. This is super annoying and inconvenient! I've updated and restarted the app, etc. but this has been a recurring problem for the past month. I have an s7. Please fix this!
It's good, but there's one small yet annoying thing. When you go to find images/gifs from your phone, all the folders aren't in an alphabetical order. I know that most people won't have this same problem as me, however though it is rather annoying having to scroll 3 times as long to find the correct folder. Yes I have many folders, which does make this rather irritating 100+ just for reference. Please, if you could make the folders be sorted alphabetically, it would make it a better experience. Thank you.
I keep coming back to this. Its a pretty solid app. Closest thing to iMessage that I have found since moving over to android. I have 2 main complaints though. 1- when chat heads are enabled why am I seeing 2 notification icons? It's redundant. Get rid of it. 2 - web previews. Can we please get web previews when you send or receive a link? Build that in and you have a winner.
Honestly I love this app, it's easy to communicate with my friends and family. However whenever anyone sends a gif or video in a chat, it lags my phone so bad that I have to either delete the item out of my chat history or force shut off the app. Please fix, I would like to keep using this app.
Was 5 stars.... Now i would give less than a star if i could I hate the new update (Oct. 30 2017) used it for ever and i LOVED it, now it wont open properly shuts down calls and closes messages. Something is definatly wrong for newst versions.
This totally sucks..... Messenger has new features that I cannot seem to access. Why??? Why am I not able to get the new video art and effects on my phone or my tablet. Wth!!! I can't believe this. Wats worse is u guys won't even respond, or give me help on wat to do. Again....THIS TOTALLY SUCKS!!! 😣😣😣
On my LG V20 phone its getting frustrated why is it the same bugs happening were I keep having to tap different tabs ,and it keep getting stuck until it finally thinks its way out of it.. You guys have a billion dollar company and you can't even fix an app to run smoothly without problems. C'mon now! Whoever keeps updating leaving bugs with it should definitely be fired immediately
can't turn off ALL calls to my phone in settings, make an option for that PLEASE!!! Horriable horriable, i have to be forced to put this damn app on my phone now and lose more space for other apps i wish to actually keep. Why the hell are we being FORCED to download this app? If I don't load it, I can't open my messages from the web on my phone...not happy Jan!
I wouldn't use it but Facebook obligates me literally obligates me to download it otherwise I can't see my messages. I have multiple accounts and once I log in it says "session expired" and I have to log in and once I do it doesn't even load my messages it tells me to get started. I hate this app so much.
I love this app for it has many features but this is stressing me out bc it eats a lot of space and im only using samsung which is definitely cheap in giving internal storage. I have a lot of needs also, optimize the space of messenger. Thankyou. :) ily ppl who developed this.
I would put 5 stars but it seems my Messanger has some bugs. 1. If I keep on their profile where it says nicknames, etc. It says that they are inactive but when I go to our chat, active. Also that I can't see when their typing. 3. It won't deliever. Please fix this
The built-in camera does not go fullscreen, which means it messes up aspect ratio on phones that have on-acreen home keys (as only fullscreen mode removes them). This means that everything is stretched and looks bad.
The app was working fine. Then i took a shower and when I got out, messenger wasn't working anymore. I updated it and still not working. I tried restarting my phone multiple times. Nothing. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled the app 3 times already and IT...STILL...ISNT...WORKING!!! Why not
I have to uninstall it then install it for making everything right. There are so many lacks to fix it! 1.sometimes i cant see the stickers i send or the stickers i get during texting. 2.sometimes it stops & does not respond. 3.sometimes i cant send messages as well as cant get. 4.during call sometime shows RECONNECTING for no reason. Perhaps there is perfect connection. And also call line cuts suddenly n so on. Whenever i uninstall it n then install it all these lacks get right but after some days these annoying things will started happening. Please correct these things.
The messages that I've received while. My phone was switched off didn't load when I rebooted it. In my PC while using Facebook I know I've received a couple of messages but upon opening my messenger app after switching my phone on no new messages seem to load. Inconvenient
On Galaxy 8+ messenger minimizes on its own randomly while trying to use it. Problem seems to come and go randomly and is pretty annyoing. I'll be typing and it'll minimize to the bubble. It happens on my sister's aswell
I hate this app, but it's the only way you can get DMs on Facebook! I really hate that everyone can see when I'm online, how long it's been since I was online, and whether or not I've read your text! As if all that's not bad enough, there's NO WAY TO REPORT HARASSMENT. MESSENGER, I'm sick of getting dick pics!!! When are you going to start allowing us to report it?!
Its ok but the suggestions thing. You should have a way to make it work without having to go through all the directions. Some people just won't be bother with it and I'm one. If it was easy to make it happen i would already have it on my phone
Seems since the lastest update that messenger is acting up.. it was fine until 10:30pm.. messages won't send nor am i receiving any.. thought it was my phone but seems I'm not the only one. Alsp appears to be acting up on my laptop to.. fix it
Messenger is currently requiring updates of 40+MB just about every week. This is not a major issue but when updating the app gets part way through then closes down and restarts the tablet, which in itself is annoying, but to add to this, when restarted there is no WiFi available; to get it back requires yet another complete closedown and restart. Very annoying. Getting to the point where it is not worth the hassle. If this does not improve them it is gone!
Mandatory app that is intrusive. If I want to use Facebook to message someone, I want it to be apart of Facebook. I do not want it to be another chat platform. I use other chat platforms for a reason. I do not want my chat/Text/mms all to be wrapped up into the most effect data aggregator that has ever existed.
Shared days are annoying. Also should have more detailed patch notes. Finally, ads are a tad large. I don't mind having them there, but they could be less intrusive.
It's a good app, I don't care about the extra fluff but for Facebook messaging it's good. Video chat isn't great though. -The most recent update seems to have broken the Android 8.0 notifications, I have all notifications turned off and I still see them popping up and the sound pings when I have that turned off.
Having issues with it loading now. It won't show any messages when I go to send a message it says sorry something went wrong. Yes I have deleted it redownloaded it and have the most up to date version and still won't work.
it isn't letting certain people in my friends list message me, I can't message and call them but they can't me. when they try to message it comes up that I've either deactivated my account or blocked them only thing that is wrong with it
This new update completely glitches my phone. The app will randomly stop working and just freeze, then i cant close out of the app. So i have to turn the screen off two to three time just to get it to go away. This is the only app on my phone that does this. Please fix this. --galaxy note 5
-3 stars, some people get the messages while others dont. Extremely irritating. And can sill only write 3 or 4 sentences before app force closes. Please fix for 5 stars. Or dont and stay at 2. Galaxy S4
