NSS National Procurement is the centre of procurement expertise for health established as part of the wider procurement reform activity across the Scottish public sector.
Our award-winning programme management and support services team underpins our operation and leads our approach to continuous improvement and procurement reform.
We use our combined buying power to get the best deal on goods and services for you. By buying more through national contracts, health boards can save money to re-direct into frontline services. Through our Logistics, Sourcing, eProcurement and Programme Management teams we have ensured that the combined buying power of NHSScotland has delivered savings to date of over £150 million that can be reinvested back into front line patient care.
We co-ordinate and develop how you can best use technology to make buying quicker and easier and track where your health board's money is going.
Our logistics team deliver goods to hospital wards, departments and community centres across Scotland - more than 80,000 lines delivered every week on a 48-hours service with a 98% on time, first time, in full supply record. Last year our logistics team saved the NHS £9.8 million.
Procurement Strategy
The Procurement Reform (Scotland) Act 2014 requires all public sector contracting organisations, which have an annual regulated procurement spend above or equal to £5 million, to produce an organisational procurement strategy. National Procurement's 2016-18 Interim Procurement Strategy is now available.
