Brexit
On 23 June 2016 the people of Scotland voted decisively to remain within the European Union (EU). The Scottish Government continues to believe that staying in the EU is the best option for the whole of the UK and Scotland. Failing that we believe the UK and Scotland must remain inside the Single Market and Customs Union.

Yvonne, 61, Crofter, Highlands & Islands
Yvonne has a croft and is an active member of the local crofting township. She breeds a selection of sheep and cattle, some of which are sold in the EU markets. She is concerned that the decision to leave the EU could impact her local community.
Nikki, 23, Student, Aberdeen
Nikki is currently studying Sociology in Aberdeen and has concerns that the vote to leave the EU will affect her future job prospects. She would like to do a PhD in the future but worries that there will be a significant drop in funding for research based doctorates.
