The Scottish Optoelectronics Association (SOA) is the trade association representing the industry, offering a number of benefits such as government lobbying, market information and analysis, partnerships, publicity and networking.

Founded over two decades ago, The SOA is the third oldest National Optoelectronics association in the world. It has links to similar bodies internationally, nationally and locally. It’s also a founding member of the International Optoelectronics Association. The SOA is now part of the Scottish Technology Network.
Key objectives
The SOA's main aims are to:
- Actively promote the interests of the Optoelectronics Industry and members through local, national and international representation
- Provide strategic guidance to government and other public sector bodies on industry priorities and allocation of funds
- Support growth of the Optoelectronics industry in Scotland
- Maintain the viability and vibrancy of the SOA
Eligibility
SOA membership is open to all companies, university departments, bridging organisations, either based in Scotland or who have a representative or office in Scotland. Individual membership is available too.
