We help local employers in Midlothian make sure they have the right skills now and in the future by providing support and advice on skills, talent development and funding.

In the last 9 months our Employer Engagement team has provided:

• Skills advice to 27 companies
• Support for 8 companies and 1 individuals to complete the Certificate of Work Readiness

In the last 15 months we also supported two companies and 48 individuals dealing with redundancy.

Supporting partners in Midlothian

We work closely with schools across Midlothian, supporting the My World of Work aspects of the School Partnership Agreements. Your local Partner Development and Integration Executive can help with:

• Delivery of the successful My World of Work School Ambassador programme
• Raising awareness and building capacity amongst teachers to use all the online resources available, including the recently developed Lesson Inserts
• Developing new Lesson Inserts. A simple way to link the curriculum with careers

We’ve also organised update and awareness sessions amongst other local partner organisations to embed My World of Work into their own services. This has included working with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in Midlothian to ensure that My World of Work is placed firmly at the heart of their organisation.
