Supporting business in the Outer Hebrides

We help local employers in the Outer Hebrides make sure they have the right skills now and in the future by providing support and advice on skills, talent development and funding.

In the last 9 months our Employer Engagement team has provided:

• Skills advice to five companies
• Support for 12 companies and 11 individuals to complete the Certificate of Work Readiness

In the last 12 months we also supported three companies and 5 individuals dealing with redundancy.

Supporting partners in the Outer Hebrides

We work closely with schools across the Outer Hebrides, supporting the My World of Work aspects of the School Partnership Agreements. Your local Partner Development and Integration Executive can help with:

• Delivery of the successful My World of Work School Ambassador programme
• Raising awareness and building capacity amongst teachers to use all the online resources available, including the recently developed Lesson Inserts
• Developing new Lesson Inserts. A simple way to link the curriculum with careers

We've also organised update and awareness sessions for local partner organisations across the Islands to embed My World of Work into their services. This has included partners delivering employability services to ensure My World of Work is place firmly at the heart of what they deliver.
