Proper to tip B&B?

Hello,

is it expected to tip the owners of the B&B's that we stay at?

    Tipping happens very little in the UK compared to the US (where it is almost mandatory). I have seen people leave tips at B&Bs (and elsewhere) for exceptional service but I personally tip only for above par service.

    Separately, if you're a group more than 6 at a restaurant, a service charge is more often than not added to your bill so you may choose not to leave a tip if you wish.

    Hi @irishfred, As a B&B owner myself it is of course always nice to find a tip left in the room. My wife and I work very hard & long hours to make the guests experience a pleasant one. The tips just help to keep us motivated to keep up the hard work.

    @irishfred Hi there, if you receive good service then it's always nice to leave a tip in hotels, b&b and restaurants to show your appreciation.  
    I'm a Scottish travel blogger and freelance writer with an extensive knowledge of travelling in Scotland.  I'm always on the road exploring my wonderful country.  I love remote places, history and the great outdoors.
