From Glasgow to Edinburgh

Hello! 
Me and my husband we’ll spend a week in Scotland this month.We arrive at Edinburgh late Saturday night and we’ll attend an event next Monday evening in Glasgow. So Sunday is for discovering a little bit of Edinburgh and we are planning travel to Glasgow by train sometime on Monday. On Tuesday midday we already booked a rental car in Glasgow until the following Saturday morning when it will be delivered in Edinburgh. So, we have half Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to a “little road trip”. We won’t be able to do any hiking or other physical activities because my husband recent injured knee. We look for beautiful landscape, good food, history and visit one or two whisky distillery and avoid any super crowded touristic places. Thanks in advance!

    You can't go wrong by driving through Loch lomond & Trossachs National Park and head northwards through Glencoe. You could go west to Oban and take a ferry trip to one of the isles or head on up to Plockton or Applecross to experience part of the NC500 route. However, you do have many, many options.

    You could head north west from Glasgow on the well-travelled route to Locaber. Loch Lomond, Argyll, Glen Coe and Oban would all be logical spots given your interests. Great seafood in Oban and also at the Lochleven Seafood Cafe on the way. Oban also has its own distillery and gives you the option of heading over to the Isles for day trips if you feel you have time. Mull may be the best bet for you there....
