There are some lovely woodland walks you can do in the Trossachs to shelter from rain. I'd suggest getting some light waterproofs for you all and if it's wet try Doon Fairy Hill in Aberfoyle. It's a great walk for children. You'll find lots of evidence in the woods of where the wee fairy folk live. I wrote a blog about the walk earlier in the year. You may find it useful.

Nearby Lochan Spling is also a nice woodland walk around a small lochan. There are some fun art installations in and around the loch that children will love. I did the walk on a very wet day earlier this year and it was enjoyable and relatively dry under the trees despite the heavy rain.
You could also head to Loch Katrine and take a tour of the Loch on the old steamer The Sir Walter Scott. You'll be able to enjoy the spectacular scenery and stay dry onboard. @cakegirl

There is the Sealife Centre at Balloch on the southern shore of Loch Lomond. If you have a car it will be easy to get there and there is a car park. You can also get there easily by train from Glasgow Central and there are plenty of amenities and facilities close by.2 -

Hi @Cakegirl! The Trossachs is a beautiful area and there are lots of great outdoor activities to do with the kids, however if the rain comes on there are still plenty of things to do! The kids (and adults) might enjoy the Hamilton Toy Collection in Callander and The Lodge Forest Visitor Centre, just outside Aberfoyle, has an interpretation centre where you can learn about the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park and watch the Ospreys on the observation camera. Loch Katrine is also beautiful and after a scenic drive over the Duke's Pass, a sail on the Steamship Sir Walter Scott or the Lady of the Lake is spectacular, even in the rain.
Stirling is also nearby with the both Stirling Castle and the National Wallace Monument holding events throughout the summer so it might be worthwhile having a look at these. Loch Lomond is only around 20 miles (30 minute drive) from the Trossachs and the Loch Lomond Sealife Aquarium at Loch Lomond Shores is a fun activity on a rainy day. Top Tip: Remember to pop into the local VisitScotland iCentres who often sell discounted tickets for local attractions!
If you are going to get wet, you might as well have fun doing it so why not have a go at some of the activities on offer from Go Country Leisure. The MacDonald Forest Hills Hotel at Kinlochard also have an indoor swimming pool if you fancy a swim!
