My husband and I live in the US (Tennessee) and are planning a trip to the Highlands in May. Our current plan is to drive from Inverness to Skye, take a ferry to Outer Hebrides and then return back to Inverness.
Anyone have any advice? Particularly in the area of what clothing, etc to bring? I know boots are probably a must!

Best of Scotland in 1 week itinerary (fully by public transport)
My Scotland travels (includes Edinburgh, Skye, Harris, Mull, Arran, Orkney, Loch Lomond, Islay, Oban, Speyside)
Another little tip is to book your accommodation for Skye asap as the Island is very popular and fills up quickly. You can search for accommodation in Skye on our VisitScotland website.
