On the 8th, 9th and 10th of September 2017 the gates to the grounds of the iconic Inveraray Castle will open for the 7th annual Best of the West Festival.

The festival is now arguably Scotland's finest boutique festival, one where music and food lovers from the world over gather to celebrate the very best in Scottish music, food and drink. As well as a stunning line-up of 21 different musical acts performing on two stages the festival has been extended to three days and finishes later each evening.

Most of the festival is under canvas including the three stages and there is not a single drop of mud to be found anywhere. So forget the wellies, the weather can rain or shine the BOWFest experience is always amazing.

BOWFest is family-friendly and includes free children's art workshops, face painting and outdoor activities. Inveraray is only a 90 minute drive from Glasgow and even shorter if you take one of the many festival buses from Glasgow, Oban and Dunoon. The combo festival and bus ticket is now on sale. Skipinnish (Friday)

Having rocketed to the top of the Scottish music scene their recent highlights include three chart topping singlesand a sell-out concert in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.

Heron Valley (Friday)

Heron Valley are massive on the folk scene in Scotland, and 2016 saw them tour 11 Festival stages in the UK. Their new album will be released at the start of the summer.

Skerryvore (Saturday)

Skerryvore are one of the country's biggest draws at traditional music festivals and the band voted Live Act of the Year in 2016 at the Scottish Traditional Music Awards.

Blazin' Fiddles (Saturday)

Undoubtedly one of the world’s most prolific fiddle groups. No other band has quite managed to capture the excitement, passion and sensitivity of Scottish music worldwide.

Eddi Reader (Sunday)

An engaging and charismatic live performer, Eddi Reader (formerly of Fairground Attraction and the Eurythmics) will headline #BOWFest2017 on Sunday evening.

Tide Lines (Sunday)

Tide Lines are a four piece band from the west coast of Scotland whose highly eclectic sound is driven by acoustic and electric guitars, with drums and keyboards.

  Paul Leonard, Michelin Star
  Isle of Eriska Hotel

  1-Michelin Star & 3 AA Rosettes "Isle of Eriska Hotel". Paul is originally from Hull where he began his career. His trainers and employers to date have included: Marcus Wareing at his 2-Michelin-Stars restaurant Petrus, Feversham Arms 3 AA Rosettes, Samling 1-Michelin-Star, Restaurant Andrew Fairlie 2-Michelin-Stars

  Sujitra 'Eddie' Scott, Thai Chef

  Eddie formerly taught at Corrie House cooking school and has been a guest chef at the Oban Winter Festival. Eddie mixes the freshest Scottish ingredients with her natural Thai cooking skills to make memorable dishes.

  Graeme Cheevers, Michelin Star
  Martin Wishart at Loch Lomond

  Graeme Cheevers grew up on the west coast working in kitchens from the age of 15 where his passion for cooking was fuelled by great Scottish produce. Graeme joined Martin Wishart at Loch Lomond in 2010 and is one of Scotland's most exciting and talented young chefs with an immeasurable passion for everything cooking.

  Andrew Maclugash, Samphire Restaurant

  Andrew has worked in some of the country's top restaurants developing his skills with Michelin Star chefs: Marcello Tully, Paul Sim and Roy Brett. Andrew won Young Scottish Hotel and Restaurant Chef of the Year in 2010.
