ANNUAL UPDATES
The second set of annual updates to the Income and Employment Domains was published on 27 October 2011.
The SIMD is usually updated every 3 years and the next update will be published in 2012. Users of SIMD have requested more frequent updates for the Income and Employment Domains to monitor, in particular, the effects of the economic downturn and it's aftermath.
In response we published the first set of annual updates to the SIMD Income and Employment Domains in October 2010 (the income domain annual update was revised in September 2011, see below).
The second set of annual updates has now been published (October 2011). The publication and additional analysis and background data can be found below.
The next update to these domains will form part of SIMD 2012 and will be published at the same time in November 2012.
We welcome comments on how useful this analysis is and on how future versions could be improved, especially as this is the first time such updates to individual SIMD domains have been published.
