Guidance paper
Analysis of the SIMD often focuses on the 15% most deprived datazones in Scotland. However there are alternatives. The guidance paper below provides worked examples of some of the other ways in which the SIMD can be used.
The paper includes a series of step-by-step guides designed to enable you to replicate the examples for your own area of interest. It may be particularly useful for those in rural areas with few, if any, datazones in the 15% most deprived in Scotland. However the methods suggested are applicable and useful across all of Scotland.
