The 2017 Annual Report Local Authority Tables were published on 30th October 2018.
The SHS 2017 Local Authority Tables present comparative analyses to those in the main annual report for each local authority, where appropriate. Results are presented in the format of tables and charts, without narrative, showing the results separately for each local authority alongside comparisons against the national average. These are available either through an interactive Excel workbook or as standalone PDF documents for each local authority.
The Excel workbook provides an opportunity for users to compare results for two local authorities at the same time and the ability to compare against previous years has been added to further enhance this resource.
A prototype infographic report for Fife has been published alongside the 2017 Local Authority Tables. This bespoke report is tailored for the local authority, Fife, and contains only a selection of available results.
Alongside the 2017 Local Authority Tables release, a prototype interactive dashboard containing SHS Local Authority Services and perfromance variables has been published. The dashboard provides the ability for anyone to compare variables over time and between Local Authorities and allows users to choose a local authority and examine trends on how much people feel they can influence decisions affecting their local area.

The Scottish Household Survey - Scotland's People - Annual Report 2017 was published on 4th September 2018.
The Scottish Household Survey (SHS) is a continuous survey based on a random sample of the general population in private residences in Scotland. Questions are asked face-to-face by an interviewer in homes all over Scotland.
Participation is voluntary, but is important in helping us make representative estimates for Scotland.
This is a summary of the Scottish Household Survey. The survey provides robust evidence on the composition, characteristics, attitudes and behaviour of private households and individuals as well as evidence on the physical condition of Scotland’s homes. The current scale of the SHS enables all users to obtain a robust deeper understanding of issues and performance, by being able to analyse across key demographic household characteristics such as deprivation, age, income, gender, rurality, ethnicity and other equalities. This is crucial to informing the Fairer Scotland agenda.

GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION (GDPR)
Data Protection Law is changing, and we want to keep you up to date with the steps the Scottish Household Survey team is taking.
On the 25th of May 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation, known as GDPR, comes into effect. GDPR imposes additional obligations on organisations and gives people rights around how their data is used.
We want you to know that the Scottish Household Survey team in the Scottish Government takes the security of information very seriously.
We have recently updated our Privacy Notice and Data Protection Impact Assessment which give information on the data we hold, what we do with that data and who we share data with.

The SHS Methodology and Fieldwork Outcomes report for 2016 has now been published. This report provides information on the survey methodology, including sampling, data collection methods and limitations of SHS data. It also includes information on fieldwork targets and outcomes, data quality and weighting of the SHS.
