The newly promoted North Coast 500 route would be fantastic for biking. Depending on which route you are travelling you could travel North over the A93 Glenshee mountain pass to Braemar or Ballater (17 miles East of Braemar). Then onwards over the dramatic A939 Cock Bridge - Tomintoul mountain road towards Inverness to pick up the NC 500 route.
Many of these roads are extremely steep and particularly twisty so I would advise taking it easy as you may be unfamiliar with these road conditions. There are plenty of passing places/parking spots to stop and soak in the beautiful views!
Enjoy your trip!
