Embark on an adventure in Glen Aros
Close to our offices on Mull, there’s a delightful woodland with an historic graveyard hidden among the trees. The medieval chapel of Cill an Ailean once stood here: its graveyard is now a peaceful place with some fascinating headstones.
There’s a circular route through the forest here too, or you can set off on an adventure to Loch Frisa. These longer routes are mostly suitable for cyclists, but walkers and horse riders are welcome too.

How to get here
Glen Aros is off the A848 between Tobermory and Salen.
From Tobermory, follow the A848 towards Salen for about 6 ½ miles (10.4 km). Look for the Forestry Commission Scotland signs to our Mull office at a turning on the right.
From Salen, follow the A848 towards Tobermory for about 1 ¾ miles (2.8 km). Look for the Forestry Commission Scotland signs to our Mull office at a turning on the left.
Follow the track past our offices for about ¼ mile (400 metres) to reach the car park at grid reference NM 551 453.
