The paths of Pendreich
Covering the slopes of Black Hill above Bridge of Allan, this woodland is popular with runners, dog walkers, and anyone looking for a short stroll or cycle. It’s also a good starting point for the longer and more strenuous walk up to Dumyat Hill.
The forest road from the car park will lead you into the heart of the woodland, from where there are great views out through the trees to Dumyat hill. You can continue on narrow, grassy paths to the northern edge of the forest and Cocksburn reservoir: a good place to watch the sunset. There are short steep slopes along the way, and the paths can be muddy.

How to get here
From Stirling, follow the A9 towards Bridge of Allan. Just after the University of Stirling, turn right onto Kenilworth Road, signposted for Sherriffmuir, and take the first right onto Sherriffmuir Road. The forest is about ½ mile (800 metres) along this road, at grid reference NS 810 975.
