TRACK CLOSURES FOR PLANNED MAINTENANCE & EVENTS 2017

Tracks can be also closed for unplanned maintenance and bad weather days, so please also check the Mountain Report before you travel.

Ongoing Maintenance

World Cup Downhill

• The Motorway Section of the DownHill is shut today due to ongoing maintenance.[16/5/17]
• Construction works taking place on the new restaurant balcony, to protect the workforce, a 'slow zone' will be in place from the Downhill start area past the construction works at the top station building. [5/05/17]
• Maintenance taking place from the Puggyline down to the carpark. Well signposted with diversions in place. Maintenance ongoing until mid-May. [4/4/17] 

Skills Loops

• Green trail closed for maintenance [15/3/17]

Cour Loop - trail

• This route is signposted as a route through the forest, under the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.  It is open and maintained (resurfaced 2016).  Please note this trail is managed by Forestry Commission Scotland, rather than Nevis Range. [Updated 20/5/16]

Sun 22 Jan - Athletics race
Small athletics race.  Using trails, will be marshalled.

Sat 11 & Sun 12 March - Round of the Scottish Enduro Series
Practice on Sat and Event on Sunday. The Witch's Trails cross country trails in Leanachan forest are not closed to public. The timed Enduro Sections are marshalled and there'll be a map of these Sections at the main Nevis Range ticket office during the event. Non-competitor mountain bikers wanting to access these Sections should first speak to the event Marshalls at the particular Section starts, and the Marshals will let the riders through.t the riders through.t the riders through.  [A route with the Sections is not made available before the event.] 

Sat 22 April - Mini Downhill race
This event takes place on the lower section of the Downhill track.  World Cup Downhill not open.

Sat 22 April - Aonach Mor Uphill
Uphill race using the Red Giant in the afternoon, last upllift 3pm.

Sat 29 April 2017- NoFuss 10 Under the Ben race
The event will use some sections of the Witch's Trails.  Trails can be ridden by riders but be aware that the event is taking place.  The route will be marshalled.  The race route will not be made public until just before the event, and an event route map will be made available at NR Ticket Office.  There's no effect on the gondola accessed Downhill but diversions will be in place on Red Giant.  Pinemarten open late on the Saturday evening.

Mon 1 May, Sat 6 May - Scottish Six Day Trials (SSDT) - features at Nevis Range 
Some trails (and the river at the far end of the carpark) will be used by the SSDT and will be signed and marshalled.

Fri 5 May - "Opening Day" of gondola accessed trails
Uplift for Downhill and Red Giant XC opens for the summer season // BBQ // DJ.

Fri 12 May - Sun 14 May 2017 - BDS Downhill Race
In order for track preparation to take place, on Fri 12 the last uplift for the Downhill track will be at 2.45pm - please clear the track promptly, thank you,  The downhill track will be completely closed for the race on Sat 13 and Sun 14 May.  Red Giant remains open, with gondola uplift priority to BDS competitors if required.

Tue 16 May - maintenance taking place on the motorway section of the Downhill track with a signed diversion in place.[15/5/17]

Tue 23 May - Sun 28 May - Preparation for World Cup - 4X CLOSED & work ongoing on Downhill
In preparation for the World Cup, maintenance will be taking place on the Downhill track.  Sections will be closed and diversions will be signed.  Daily updates will be available at the main Ticket Office and on the Whiteboard where bikes are loaded onto the Gondola.  If you need more information at any time then please call the main Nevis Range office.  The 4X track is completely closed for maintenance. [23/5/17]

Mon 29 May - Sun 4 June 2017 - MTB World Cup
Downhill closed Mon 29 May -  Sun 4 June.  Red Giant closed Thurs 1 - Sun 4 June.  Witch's Trails around the carpark closed Sat 3 - Sun 4 June.  All trails reopen as soon as tracks rideable on Mon 5 June.

Sun TBC Sep 2017 - Last day of gondola uplift for both Orange Downhill and Red Giant XC 
The Downhill/Red Giant tracks must hibernate for winter. This is the final weekend and your last chance to ride the Downhill this season.

Sat 29 Oct 2017 - Relentless 24
This 24 hour race event will use the Witch's Trails, diversions and directions will be in place.  The Cats Eyes XC trail will be closed during the race.  Course details will be released closer to event date.
