Go for a wander at Eastfield
Just a few hundred yards from the busy hum of traffic on the M8, a new forest is growing. It’s amazing how quickly the trees create a pleasant place to find a few moments’ peace or walk the dog.
A wide surfaced path meanders round the east side of the site, next to Eastfield, and there’s a network of smaller paths to explore. There are some steep slopes, and the narrow paths are uneven in places.

How to get here
From Harthill, take the B7066 (Edinburgh Road) west towards Glasgow, and turn left on West Benhar Road (B717). After about ¾ mile (1.2 km) there’s a small car park on the right, at grid reference NS 890 636.
