Welcome to lovely Limerigg
One visitor described Limerigg as a ‘smashing wee wood’, and that’s a perfect description. It’s set in quiet, gently rolling countryside and makes a fabulous get away for a walk, cycle or horse ride.
There are lots of woodland birds to listen out for and spot, including bullfinches, willow warblers and woodpeckers. The paths are mostly wide and smooth-surfaced, with moderate slopes. Some sections can be wet and muddy after rain.

Tree felling activities have now been completed on this site in response to the discovery of Phytophthora Ramorum, a disease that kills Larch trees. We are pleased to advise that a programme of re-planting is currently being planned and is likely to commence towards the end of 2019. Due to the nature of the disease, and to remove the chances of any residual infection, we would ask all visitors to clear shoes, bikes and paws after using the woodland. How to get here
From Falkirk, take the B803 to Slamannan, then the B8022 to Limerigg. The entrance gate to the forest is just past the old post office, on the east side of the road and next to the bus stop, at grid reference NS 857 708. There is space to park at the forest entrance; however the gate should be kept clear to allow access.

Just over ¼ mile (400 metres) away, you can stroll by the waters of Black Loch or have a go at fishing for trout. On the edge of Falkirk, the magical old woodland of Callendar Wood is full of fascinating historic features.
