Live Traffic Camera FTP Service

The Traffic Scotland Live Traffic Camera FTP Service provides registered users with FTP access to all of Traffic Scotland’s Live Traffic Camera images. Registered users will be provided with FTP access to live images and an up to date list of current cameras and their coordinates so that they can be displayed on a map if required.

DATEX II

Traffic Scotland traffic and travel information is made available to other organisations such as local authorities, information providers and other national roads authorities via the Traffic Scotland DATEX II feed for approved subscribers. To subscribe for this service users need to be registered and approved, instructions on how to apply can be found on our DATEX II page.

RSS Feeds

Traffic Scotland offers a range of RSS (Really Simple Syndication) Feeds that can be utilised by developers and embedded within your website. RSS Feeds can be used to alert users to new traffic information as and when it is published by Traffic Scotland. Our RSS Feed also include geographic attributes so that you can present our RSS Feed information on a map.

Journey Planning Tool

Traffic Scotland are partnered with Traveline Scotland to provide public transport information. Traveline Scotland provide their own journey planning widget that can be customised and embedded within your own website. The widget is provided in html format and can be fully customised in terms of presentation. It can be accessed on Traveline Scotland’s website.

Event Management Tool

Traffic Scotland can provide and host a dedicated event management service for large scale events taking place in Scotland. Events managed in the past include T in the Park and the Open. Through the development of an event specific information service Traffic Scotland provide a comprehensive traffic information and travel advice service for both event goers and ordinary road users. Traffic Scotland Radio

The Traffic Scotland Radio service provides frequent national traffic and travel information bulletins focussed on the strategic motorway and trunk road networks streamed over the internet. Traffic Scotland provide a range of html banners that can be embedded within your website to link to the Traffic Scotland Radio service. The banner images are hosted by Traffic Scotland, all that is required is to add the html code to your website.

    • Any URLs provided as part of the data feed must remain unchanged and functional
    • Traffic Scotland reserves the right to remove / block users if their use of data is causing a degradation of the Traffic Scotland service.
