Day trips from Glasgow

Hi! Can anyone suggest great day tours and adventure activities? We have our "base" in Glasgow and looking for days trips that take us somewhere with castles and mountains in the morning and return in the evening. We are a group of 9, most of us between 15-17 years of age. Any ideas where to book tours, see beautiful places and do rafting or gorge walking?

    Hi @eva You could head to Aberfoyle to Go Ape.  That’s a drive of a little over an hour from Glasgow.  It’s scenic too. Go Ape is a high adrenaline, tree top adventure set in the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park.  Think tarzan swings, massive zip wires, scary bridges to cross high in the trees!

    Being in the stunning Trossachs you’ll also get the lochs, mountains and rugged scenery. You could also take a short hike up Ben A’an neaby for incredible views. Or, if you want to enjoy the scenery in a more relaxing way after zipping through the trees hop on the Steamship Sir Walter Scott for a short cruise on Loch Katrine.

    No end of options within an hour or so as you stretch into the Southern Highlands. I assume you have a driver in the group? If not the likes of Rabbies do Argyll day trips that take in many of the outdoor and historic highlights (but will limit some of your freedom obviously).
