Greetings everyone,
My Fiance and I are looking at coming to Scotland to get Married in a Castle. No date yet as we just recently got engaged, and are trying to find a location that we like and then we will start to look at dates.
I have found some good and some not-so-good information and locations so far in the beginning stages of our searches.
I was wondering if any of you have some advise, warnings, or helpful information that might help us in our search.
Cheers!
Morgan.

Blair Castle in Perthshire
The National Trust for Scotland also do weddings in some of their properties
I am a wedding photographer and these are places I have had dealings with either directly or indirectly to do with weddings and would have not hesitate recommending.
Congratulations on your engagement.

Culzean Castle on the Ayrshire coast is beautiful for weddings too
Dalhousie Castle not far from Edinburgh also do weddings and it is a lovely hotel and spa too. Most castles/stately homes will host weddings - Hopetoun House, Dundas Castle, Melville Castle, Carlowrie Castle, Carberry Tower and even Edinburgh Castle!! Those are a few options near Edinburgh. There are plenty more throughout Scotland.
In some places the waiting time is quite long maybe a year or so if you want to get married on a Saturday so please bear it in mind. You will need to work out a budget too as some popular choices can be pricey.
Good luck in your search and let us know where you choose!!
Congratulations on your engagement! So lovely
As you can see we have lots of castles! So difficult to choose if you've never been there before.
If you can, I'd recommend visiting Scotland and find that special place you both love, make some holiday memories, then choose a castle that you've seen and fell in love with.
I was married last June on my favourite island the Isle of Arran as it holds special memories. It was a registry office wedding though, just the two of us, but then we had the whole day to drive to beautiful places on the island. Have a wee look at my post if you're interested: https://loveexploringscotland.com/2017/06/30/💖-joining-four-rings-on-the-isle-of-arran/
I hope you find that special place for your wedding in Scotland!
