Hello, We will be visiting Edinburgh next week, without a car. Are there any distilleries that are worth a visit in the city, or would it be better to hire a car or book an excursion?
Many thanks for any information.

Otherwise, hiring a car to visit an actual distillery outwith Edinburgh would be a good option. Glenkinichie distillery is the closest to Edinburgh, approx 40 mins drive east of the city. There are also several distilleries approx 1 - 1.5 hours drive in the beautiful Perthshire area including Blair Atholl, Edradour and the Famous Grouse Experience. You may find it useful to visit our VisitScotland website which has an interactive map you can use to search for distilleries in all regions of Scotland.
I hope this helps.
