I'm from the US. Traveling to Scotland next week., my second visit. we are flying into Edinburgh then driving to Skye. Looking for recommendations for places to stop along the way.....On this trip also heading to Golspie, Elgin and Sterling....any suggestions of must see, must do appreciated. Also is there a rail from Sterling into Govan section of Glasgow? Thanks all and can't wait

You can also get the Glasgow Subway train to Govan station in ten minutes. Catch it from Buchanan Street subway station which is just outside Queen Street railway station.

We drove Edinburgh to Stirling (stopping at Kelpies, Wallace Monument) and spent overnight in lovely Glencoe at Clachaig Inn. The next morning we drove to ferry via Glenfinnan.
We took the Skye Bridge back, stopping at Eilean Donan.
Skye was gorgeous but very, very crowded.
