My family & a friend will be visiting Scotland (from Tennessee, USA) beginning Aug 24. My son (23 y/o) wants to bring his drone to make aerial photos in the more remote areas. Are drones allowed? If so, are there any special rules that we should know about? Thanks for any info!!!! Cam

My husband has a drone that we use on occasion for personal use to take photos and sometimes video. We have a DJI MavicPro and our drone tells us what aerospace we are allowed/or not allowed to fly in (Geofencing).
A really useful website is http://dronesafe.uk/ where you can check out the drone code and also download a drone assist app.

Hey @Cam! If you're looking for places to fly the drone in Edinburgh to take some pictures, I would recommend going up Arthur's Seat or Corstorphine Hill for some cracking views over the city, it's not very remote but you'll get some smashing pictures!

However, there is plans to introduce new legislation for the registering of drones, so before you fly your drone, please make sure that you look the legislation up to see if has been put into practice yet.
