Driving from Kilsyth to Pennan via Cairngorms Nat Park (A9)

Have I bitten off more than i can chew here?
We have a 2 1/2  week road trip through Scotland and after leaving our base near Kilsyth (our first stop in Scotland and base for exploring Glasgow and Edinburgh over 4 days) our first booked stop is at Pennan in the North but would like to travel through the Nat Park for the scenery and Distillerys (yum)...we are from Australia and used to driving long daily distances but with stops along the way maybe this is too much in one day? should we try to break it up? It would mean sacrificing one of our booked days in Kilsyth but could do.
