What to wear?? I'm so excited to be coming to Scotland...and need to pack appropriately. Thanks.

Best of Scotland in 1 week itinerary (fully by public transport)
My Scotland travels (includes Edinburgh, Skye, Harris, Mull, Arran, Orkney, Loch Lomond, Islay, Oban, Speyside fest)
I would also bring warm jumpers/fleeces too and waterproof walking boots if you plan to do some walking; it is not uncommon (though so far this year has been less wintery) to get snow in March. Yes, this depends on where you are in Scotland, but it is always good to be prepared. Have a wonderful trip!
I always carry a rucksack with lightweight waterproof trousers, gloves, hat and a snood. I find if you can keep your head, hands and neck warm it's half the battle. My current jacket of choice is a lightweight down one which fits into a tiny little bag. When it gets too hot to wear I just pop it into my rucksack and it's light to carry. An umbrella can be a bit of a lost cause as Scottish wind can make mincemeat of them in 10 seconds flat!
If you get bright sunny days then don't forget sunglasses as the sun is still low in the sky and can get quite blinding - hard to believe I know.
For dinner/drinks you'll usually get away with jeans and a smart top as Scotland's quite a relaxed country. There are formal places too, but you can eat great food in nice places without getting all done up to the nines.
