Devil's Pulpit, Finnich Glen
Wow, wow and wow!
We visited Finnich Glen at the weekend and it's so beautiful and magical. It was quite dangerous getting down to the bottom of the gorge, but so worth the mucky, slippery expedition.
It was really busy too with people coming and going. Some tourists were taking photos with a glass of whisky!
We stayed for about an hour and a half taking photos and just standing there taking it all in. There was pretty shamrock growing up the gorge and people had written their names on stones and placed them on the ground or in the walls. I really wanted to wade in the water and explore further but I wasn't prepared for it.
This was an Outlander filming location, when Dougal told Claire to drink from the St Ninan's Spring, also known as Liar's Spring. The water looks like Irn Bru or whisky, whatever you want it to be!
I attach a few photos, more on my blog

You find it on the A809 just south of the B834 turn off for Killearn. There's a small layby on the A809 where you can park or you can also park at the B834 turn off.
You'll see a metal door that's locked and just further up from the bridge there's a fence you can climb over and follow the trodden paths.
I have some photos on my blog that might help. Or I hope this Google map link works: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Finnich+Glen+-+Devil's+Pulpit/@56.0274826,-4.418966,14.25z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x488850d299b9b6f3:0x4bf0c64dabfeb0e!8m2!3d56.0337774!4d-4.4142901

I wish there was a way you could really see it. I have more photos on my blog that you might like to see https://loveexploringscotland.com/2016/05/08/the-devils-pulpit-finnich-glen/.
I also created this little story on Steller and it shows a few short video clips: https://steller.co/s/5qRGA6wegA6
I have a few other video clips, they're not the best as I need to learn how to do this better. I can't seem to upload them here, so I've now added these to the end of my blog post for you
Take care

Take care, Joe
When I'm recommending Finnich Glen/Devil's Pulpit to friends I'll also be sure to tell them to bring tall wellies or waterproofs and try to get as far back towards the waterfalls as they can to really enjoy it. A towel is also recommended! When you're there by yourself and you can sit on the Devil's Pulpit rock, time stands still. Fabulous little hidden gem.
