  March is going to come around so fast, you must be excited! Here are a few of my suggestions to get you started:
  
  

  • Book a tour so you can see the Lochness, whiskey distilleries, beautiful landscapes and more! 
  • Visit St Andrew's cathedral, designed in 1869
  • Visit Urquhart Castle, one of the most famous ruins in the country with over 1000 years of history
  • Peruse the marina and go on board the Ship Space, which has a 88 foot Titanic model! (and it's free!)
  • Clava Cairns are a well preserved cemetery and standing stones that are worth an explore
  • The Inverness Botanic Gardens are also a lovely visit

  There's lots to see and do in Inverness and further North. Depends on how much time you have you may even want to visit the Isle of Skye. If you go onto visitscotland.com you'll find lots of places of interest to visit and also accommodation. After Inverness why not take a trip through the Cairngorms and visit Royal Deeside!!

  Patty, have a look at the acceptable working voltages for your electrical gear - many laptop power packs will take multiple voltages without adaptors. I'm not sure about hair equipment.... I don't have much hair!
  
  For clarity our voltage is nominally 240V but is generally actually supplied at 220V 
  
  You will need plug adapters, but necessarily power converters to change 220-110V

  I recommend you to go on a great trip around Highlands in Scotland. You will have a great start from Inverness! 
  
  There's plenty to see around - Loch Ness monster, Caledonian Canal in Fort Augustus, Glenfinnan Viaduct with Jacobite Steam Train and also romantic Glenfinnan Monument, a beach of Camusdarach in Arisaig with beautiful views of Eigg, Rum and Skye! There's just 1.5hr to the picturesque fishing town of Ullapool, 2.40hr to "King's Port" Portree on Isle of Skye and 2hr to the most famous Scottish glen - Glencoe.
  
  I could also write about a trip to Cairngorms National Park or North Coast 500 and many many others, but not sure if you will manage to do  all of that in just one week  Of couse visiting a castle this year is a MUST because of the Scotland 2017 – year of history, heritage and archaeology. Not far from Inverness is Dallas Dhu Historic Destilery, Elgin Cathedral and Huntly Castle!

  The east coast of Caithness county is rich in historical sites from across the ages. Mediaeval, iron age, neolithic cairns, modern...the list goes on and it's a relatively unexplored region compared to its much 'prettier' sibling on the west coast
