Has anybody ever visited one of Scotland's top stargazing spots? We've got quite a few great locations - from the UK's first Dark Sky Park, the Galloway Forest Park, to Moffat, recently declared Europe's first Dark Sky Town.
Over the next few weeks, Mars will be closer to earth than it has been in over a decade - a mere 46.8 million miles - so we've got a better chance of seeing it shining brightly in our clear night skies.
Anyone planning to go and have a look?

I quite often head up to the car park at Culloden Battlefield in Inverness and although it's only about a mile from a housing district, it has excellent stargazing opportunities. I've even managed to see the Northern Lights from up there a few times, which was amazing!
In our Inverness Visitor Information Centre, we have a display focused on good stargazing spots across the north, as well as information on how to improve your chances at seeing the Northern Lights and spotting the International Space Station on its orbit around Earth. If anyone's ever in the area, it's well worth having a look at!
